Christmas fun.

We all kind of fight over holding Aiden.

First artificial tree we have ever owned. Arizona does crazy things to you.

Aiden made Christmas so fun this year! What a
sweet baby.

I missed getting my October post up.
So I put up a photo of Amber's birthday.
Her friends made her day fun by giving
her over 50 balloons.

For Halloween Jessica always thinks of
fun costume ideas.

We had fun at a pumpkin patch.

We had a fun baby shower for Jessica
on November 5th. This darling cake
was a real hit.

End of Summer Fun

For our 25th wedding anniversary we
went to hear Josh Groban in concert.
Best concert ever!!!!

In August we attended the rehearsal dinner for Sam and Whitney at Deer Valley. It was really lovely.

The next evening they had a beautiful, formal reception.

The girls and I had a final summer swim party.

Our 2011 Reunion at the Lake House/ Canandaigua Lake

We love going to Canandaigua Lake in upstate New York. I was born and raised about a half hour from this Lakehouse. It is really relaxing and beautiful and the actual town is just good old small town USA.

4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend in Provo this year. We attended the Stadium of Fire and really loved it. Fun family times and great memories. Stephen and I agree we could retire in Utah and be very happy. We really miss have 4 seasons and we both have so much family in Utah that it is like a second home.

Peach picking

A few weeks back we had a fun family outing. Jess is always
finding great things to do in the area and this one was even
free. Stephen,Trent, Jess and I went to a large working farm
that let you pick or buy their produce year round. At this
time of year they had lots of peaches to pick and apricots.
They also had a big tasting tent with their peach salsa, peach
jam, peach gumballs and a lot more. They also had a pancake
breakfast, petting farm animals area and crafts for sale.
Stephen and I picked our own peaches. It was fun!

8th grade end of year celebration

I was on the committee to plan the 8th grade celebration
for Amber's school. I was in charge of the raffle. I went
to many local businesses asking for contributions and got
things like: Bahama bucks shaved ice cards, Cold Stone
cards, Tropical smoothie cards, Polar Ice skating sessions,
Jump Street sessions, a free manicure....etc. Then we
kicked it up a notch and used some donation money and
bought I-tune cards, session passes to a water park, and
the biggy 5 longboards. It was fun to give the kids all
that fun stuff. Funny enough the best and most expensive
2 boards went to girls that I am guessing had never stood
on a longboard in their lives.

Donny and Marie

I heard that Donny and Marie were in town doing a signing
for their new CD and I couldn't resist jumping in the car
and driving to Chandler for a photo op?! Trust me that's
all I got it was crazy crowded. It was still fun though.

My birthday

I haven't posted in such a long time so I thought I should get with it!
This year my birthday fell on Mother's Day. So my family was double
nice to me :) The night before Stephen took me out to dinner at Red
Lobster (my choice) and a movie "Water for Elephants". I really liked
it. Then on Sunday Stephen and Amber made me breakfast. After church
Jess and Trent made me enchiladas. Then came the big surprize. This
year the girls decided to get me one big gift....a kitchen aid. I was
very surprized and really like it. It was a very nice day!
P.S. Every year I have a card contest and choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd
place winner. I have 2 categories. They are: 1 it must make me laugh
out loud or 2 cry or at least choke up. I usually get mostly the first
category. This year Jill won with the kicking one, 2nd was Amber's
an online card by Hoops and Yo-yo and 3rd Mimi's the little girl with shoes
surrounding her. For sentimental Amy won by sending me texts every hour
telling me what she loved about me. It was really great! Also my Mom
sent me a really nice card that made me cry. So there you have it.

Jordan/Israel/Egypt

On March 18-30,2011 my Mother was generous enough to take her children and spouses to visit the Holy Lands with a tour with Michael Wilcox. It was a trip never to be forgotten. Some of the main highlights were: In Jordan we started at Petra for a day. We also took in Mt. Nebo, floating on the Dead Sea, the River Jordan, Nazareth, and a boat ride at night on the Sea of Galilee.

Crossing the border into Israel we went to The Mount of Beatitudes, Tel Dan, Bethlehem, Gethsemane, Golgatha, the Garden Tomb, the Jerusalem center for Sacrament meeting the Old City of Jerusalem and Hezekiah's Tunnel.

Then into Egypt we visited the Cairo Museum and King Tut's Exhibit, the 3 Pyramids and Sphnix. Of course this is a super brief summary but I wanted to put some photos up on my blog with it.

I can finally share one more huge news item in our lives in 2011

Jessica and Trent have been to the first doctor appointment and heard the baby's heart beat and on Sunday May 1st announced to all that they are pregnant and due on November 25th. They told us back at Jill's graduation because that was the last time we would all be together for quite awhile. There were lots of tears and hugs and as we sat in a cozy little sandwich shop in Rexburg, Idaho with a snowstorm going on outside the joy was so wonderful. I haven't gone a day since then without thinking and daydreaming about this great news.

Let it Snow! : ) April 7-10, 2011

We drove to Rexburg this weekend for Jill's graduation from BYU-Idaho. This makes daughter number 3! We had such a nice time. It snowed everyday. Everyone was saying is it seriously still snowing in April. I was saying please keep snowing. I loved every minute of it!

Jill graduated on Saturday, we moved her to a condo in Provo that night and she has started student teaching this morning in an elementary school in West Jordan.

2011 is proving to be a big year for our girls.

Jenn is headed to Africa to do humanitarian service for 3 months.

Jill is student teaching in West Jordan, Utah.

Amy is going on a mission.

Amber is starting high school in August.

So a year with lots of change for the girls.

Better...... :)

You know how you can kind of get on a roll when you start doing something that isn't that fun?! Well Amber's MiaMaid class is going to be visiting each girls bedroom to show the other girls. I was not too excited because it meant getting it at least semi presentable. Well we got going and drug everything out from under her bed. And i mean lots of junk. Then I cleaned off the dresser and nightstands. Well it got me motivated so onto my desk and i threw away a big stack of unneeded papers and whatnot. Didn't stop there. Next to the computer desk. I am so pleased. Remember to have people come to your house and look at rooms you don't usually have them in and start throwing away!

Black widow

O.K. a few minutes ago I took the recycling out and when I came back inside I looked down by the sliding glass door and saw this large black spider. Stephen confirmed it is a black widow. It is right next to our doggie door where the dogs are constantly running in and out. He said he would take care of it tomorrow?! Good luck sleeping tonight.

Hard to get there on time

This morning I had every intention of making it to my hair appointment on time. I had everything going as planned and was well into my exercise DVD when my cellphone went off in the other room. It was immediately followed by the home line which means one thing...it is one of the girls wondering why i won't pick up. So between lunges I run and grab the cell phone and put Amy on speaker as I go into squats. She has some questions that she wants addressed right away. I tell her to run it past her Dad. Okay still in squats the texting from Amber starts in. She says come over to the school and sign a paper for my classes next year. i tell her to just sign it. Four texts later she is still unwilling to forge my signature. I finish my crunches and yoga section completely distracted and messing everything up.
Then I rush to the shower and run to the car when my sister texts me about availability for an upcoming mother/daughter trip. At this point my head is spinning and all of my good intentions have come to naught as I pull into my appointment 10 minutes late. My stylist tells me it is O.K. which we all know is code for don't do this again if you want me to do your hair. : (
P.S. My hair does look better, she is good at what she does.

Long lost phone

Moments ago Amber helped me cut open a big bag of kitchen garbage that bytheway was really
smelling. I felt pretty strongly that I should wait until I pitched it that I should search it.
As of Sunday morning ( it is Tuesday afternoon now) we have been on an all out search for Amber's cell phone. At first you know how it is, you look around in the obvious places and keep
thinking it will turn up. That night i got back out of bed with several other places to look. By the next day the search was intensified and we resort to the dismantling of her room. Retrace every step. Try the freezer, the pantry, the entire house. By day three I am losing it and can hardly concentrate on anything else. I must admit that i am alittle ashamed that I prayed for help over something as worldly as this but it was really getting to me. Although I do know that the reason I felt so strongly not to throw away the trash was not just coming from me. I also don't have enough faith because I really didn't think it would be in there. I mean she must have been pretty sleepy to throw away her phone. When she screamed there it is I grabbed it and ran to tell Stephen. Can I just say oh so happy, it is a new phone. And we did remember to say a prayer and say thanks for the help! Sorry, no photo this time of the gross garbage.

Suns/Jazz Game

Amber's dance/singing group, Light had the chance to perform at the pre game show tonight at the Sun's arena. It was just the older group but we got tickets to go. Unfortunately Stephen, Trent and Amber have been sick and couldn't make it but Jessica and I couldn't resist a fun outing. It was a great game and we got free food at the concessions. An usher even let us move done to good seats at halftime. The Suns are my main team now even though their season isn't going too well. I would love to go again sometime, we had fun.
